So we’ve just got back from one of my favourite races on the calendar Karlovy Vary!
Karlovy Vary (Carlsbad) is a unique Spa town not too far from the German border. I fell in love with this place the first time we came here. It reminds me of the Notting Hill in the way that all the buildings running along the river are all so grand and are all painted in different pastel colours.
Here are a few photos of my trip this year, I would definitely recommend staying by the river as you can walk around the whole town and the atmosphere is fantastic.
We stayed at the Windsor Spa Hotel this year and it was so central. Unfortunately we didn’t have time to make the most of the various Spa treatments on offer but I would definitely try them if you can!
I take my dog (Mufasa) everywhere with me and one thing I love about Karlovy Vary is that almost all the restaurants and hotels are pet friendly!

We ate at restaurant Capri most nights, you can sit outside right next to the river and the food is great. The fish is lovely and fresh and the staff are friendly and helpful!
We also had time during the race weekend to visit Loket town, which is a lot quieter than Karlovy Vary but equally as beautiful. The stunning castle is definitely worth the trip! (Pic below)
Also… Interesting fact – they filmed scenes for James Bond Casino Royale in the town square in Loket.
